Radical Evolutionary Pathfinder in Education
I'm a leadership trainer and social scientist, educated at the University of Western Sydney with a degree in Applied Science. I was born in Australia but have lived in Sweden since 1990. Since 1999 I have been working as a consultant in the education sector giving workshops, seminars and guidance to schools in Sweden. I am founder of http://www.nordicintegral.com/
I have also been a student of Andrew Cohen since 2006. I first met Andrew in May 2003 when I heard him give a presentation together with Don Beck titled Leap into the Future, for Copenhagen's top business and political leaders.
Together with my associate, psychologist Mats Edin, we have recently published the book “Order and structure in the school: one step on the path to dynamic harmony in the classroom.” Using case stories from our work in Sweden we describe the urgent need for vertical leadership in the educational sector as well as a new model that brings change now. Imagine being nine years old and having a teacher with twenty five years of experience who was resolute in her intention to create the perfect classroom for learning and development.
In this 5 part series I talk with Joan Berland, a third grade teacher working in the public school system in Upstate New York. Joan contacted me several months ago and wrote that she wanted to create a classroom beyond ego, a classroom where the kids would be coming to school each day entering and co-creating a field of consciousness where everyone's attention would be more focused on continually taking responsibility for developing and learning than anything else.

The aim of Nordic Integral
Nordic Integral is focused on facilitating and presenting case study examples of the development of more complex levels of thinking, leadership and social responsibility within the Nordic Region and the world. We are focused on the task of enquiring into, defining, introducing, developing and documenting Integral Education, from an Evolutionary Enlightenment perspective.
One of our tasks is using the Spiral Dynamics model and Ken Wilbers integral AQAL theory together with Andrew Cohen's evolutionary enlightenment perspective to drain the ego/Green pluralistic/nothing is sacred/don't judge me or my behaviour/sensitive self swamp, a phenomenon that is causing so much chaos in schools and stopping the Spiral and evolutionary impulse to evolve from moving freely in people. Without this perspective Red (egocentrism) is allowed to take over, so that kids are raised on narcissism and starved of meaning and purpose. And those lucky enough to develop to Green or cognitively a worldcentric perspective are given no higher moral context to live from than individualism or narcissism.
We inspire and help teachers and school leaders remove the blockages and create the conditions necessary for deeper levels of consciousness to emerge. The students and teachers are awakened to a deeper moral context that encourages a positive expression of each level now. What emerges is a new moral context that cares about the evolution of consciousness; where consciousness is the evolution of One without a second in time NOW!
Using case studies from families, to classrooms, to whole schools, to the Swedish school system, we point to the real possibility of creating a higher order of order and structure in schools where an atmosphere of dynamic harmony can be instantly created. And that our choice to support this vertical movement has moral implications for each of us right now, no matter where we are.
